5th Annual LRTF Conference: Investing in Recovery
INVESTING IN RECOVERY
Centre for Life, Newcastle-upon-Tyne
23 June 2009
The 5th Annual LRTF Conference is the largest UK gathering of light and urban rail transport professionals and explores how authorities, industry and third-party organisations can pro-actively transform the UK’s regional economies through wise investment in quality urban rail transport.
The challenging climate requires a new approach to urban planning – including transportation. As well as bringing social and economic cohesion to areas in need of reinvigoration, now is the time to recognise the wider benefits sustainable transportation can bring to UK regions.
This event provides the opportunity to network and exchange valuable experience, while creating an engaging forum.
The Themes include:
- - “What can I get for £150 million?” – Maximising stakeholder value
- - How effective transit transforms life in smaller towns and cities
- - Tram-train: Adapting heavy rail for 21st Century urban centres
- - Reinvigorating the Tyne & Wear Metro
- - Making it happen: Nottingham and the Workplace Parking Levy
- - Effectively managing complex infrastructure projects
- - Getting the UK’s local and regional economies moving again!
- - Panel debate with leading transport experts, government and
- local authority figures
- There will also be seminars and exhibitions from some of the
