Regeneration

Light rapid transit schemes, such as trams, can be significant drivers of regeneration in cities and urban conurbations.

Broadly, experience both here in the UK and abroad demonstrates that LRT schemes promote regeneration through:

  • - significant inward investment in a locality
  • - a strong positive impact on employment and property prices and
  • - focussed development, rather than urban sprawl.
